Hameer Vaid is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in New York. He focuses on private equity M&A services, specializing in real estate. His primary areas of concentration are deals, investment & asset management, valuation, finance operations, and digital. With nearly 18 years of advisory and industry experience, Mr. Vaid has worked with his clients across the investment lifecycle, from strategy, through deals, financing and asset management and then to exit. Mr. Vaid’s notable assignments have been on a global scale—including but not limited to—helping fund managers with their open and closed-end real estate fund strategies, lift-out and market expansion assessments for banking institutions, market pricing for alternative investment service providers, and platform company strategies for one of the largest private equity managers. Most recently, he was responsible for an assessment on optimizing the front office operating model, cost takeout, and EBITDA improvement opportunities for a top-tier commercial brokerage firm. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Vaid spent six years with PwC’s Real Estate Advisory practice in New York, where he led engagements involving strategy, operations and digital initiatives for clients across the asset and wealth management sector. Prior to that, Mr. Vaid spent 10 years in industry with Urban American, a real estate private equity firm in the greater New York area, where he was SVP of asset management. There, he held multiple roles across acquisitions, dispositions, development, finance, treasury, and investor relations for real estate private equity GP, Fund, REIT, and Joint-Venture investments. Mr. Vaid participated in transactions valued in excess of ~$1.3 billion on the buy-side and ~$550 million on the sell-side. He was responsible for all aspects of debt and equity investment valuation and played a lead role in the set up and management of Urban American’s wholly owned subsidiary in India. Previously, Mr. Vaid spent two years with GE Capital’s Wealth Income Management group as an associate. Mr. Vaid earned a bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Management Studies, India, and an MBA from Cornell University SC Johnson College of Business. He has been involved in multiple charitable and non-profit initiatives focusing on children’s education and animal welfare programs.
