Zachary Agee Bio

Principal Zachary S. (Zach) Agee serves as vice chair of the Woods Rogers Corporate and Business Transactions Practice Group. Zach advises clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and private equity investments. He is experienced advising clients on complex and high-value transactions, drafting and negotiating transaction agreements, and managing complex deal processes. Zach is also an experienced partner in the Woods Rogers Private Client Services Practice Group advising clients on all aspects of trust and estate planning and administration. His trusts and estates practice focuses on creative personalized planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families. Clients turn to Zach for his deep experience managing significant assets, diverse business interests, and complex family dynamics. He provides comprehensive guidance to executors and trustees, navigating intricate probate proceedings, resolving disputes, and advising trustees on their fiduciary duties to ensure compliance with trust terms and applicable laws. Zach is graduate of the Southeast Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. For the past four years, Virginia Super Lawyers has recognized Zach among its “Rising Stars” in Trust and Estates, and Business and Corporations. A Salem, Virginia native, Zach earned his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he became a member of the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Distinguished Lecture Series Board. He joined Woods Rogers after completing a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Robert J. Humphreys of the Court of Appeals of Virginia. Prior to pursuing his law degree, Zach served on the congressional staffs of the Honorable Robert W. Goodlatte and H. Morgan Griffith in Washington, DC. While on staff, he obtained a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies from the College of International Security Affairs, National Defense University at Fort McNair with concentrations in counterterrorism and international strategic security.
